• Explanation : After John the Baptist started to preach and baptize the people for conversion, Jesus came also to the Jordan river and asked John to baptize him, so He would join Gods People to be open for the Kingdom of God.

After some reluctances John baptized Jesus, and the heavens opened, a white dove as a symbol of Gods Peace and His Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus, accompanied with the voice “You are my beloved Son!”. This is seen as the moment that Gods Spirit came upon Jesus to anoint Him to start to evangelize: “Repent and be open to receive the kingdom of God!” (Marc 1:9-11).

• Keterangan : Setelah Yohanes Pembaptis mulai berkhotbah dan membaptis orang-orang, Yesus juga datang ke sungai Yordan minta dibaptis, sehingga Ia akan bergabung dengan umat Allah, terbuka untuk Kerajaan Allah.

Walaupun sempat merasa enggan, Yohanes membaptis Yesus. Pada saat itu langit terbuka, merpati putih sebagai simbol Damai dari Tuhan dan Roh Kudus turun ke atas Yesus, disertai dengan suara “Engkaulah Putera yang Ku kasihi!” Ini dapat dipandang sebagai peristiwa di mana Roh Kudus menaungi Yesus untuk mengurapi Dia agar mulai melakuan evangelisasi “Bertobat dan bersikap terbukalah untuk menerima Kerajaan Allah!” (Mark 1:9-11).
