• Explanation : Exhausted from a long walk, Jesus takes a rest at the Jacob’s well in Sichem, Samaria. His disciples went into the town for shopping. At noontime a woman comes to the well. She avoids the crowd and their gossiping that comes in the morning. Jesus requests her to give him water. She is surprised, how he as a Jew from Jerusalem can ask her to help him to drink from this famous well. Does He have better water? Then Jesus starts to tell her about the living water, the anointing with the Holy Spirit of God, that will flow in her like a river, so that she never will be thirsty. She asks Jesus to give her that water, so she does not have to come to this well again. She asks Jesus about the right way to pray: in Jerusalem or in Silo? When she starts to go back into the own, Jesus tells something about her relationship with her 7th husband. She recognizes Jesus as the Messiah, the prophet, she runs back into the town, and proclaims loudly that she met the Messiah, and all the people are joyful to invite Jesus into their town (John 4:14).

• Keterangan : Dari perjalanan panjang yang melelahkan, Yesus beristirahat di sumur Yakub di dekat Sikhem, Samaria. Sementara para murid-Nya pergi ke kota untuk berbelanja. Di siang hari, datanglah seorang wanita Samaria ke sumur itu. Wanita itu menghindari keramaian dan gossip dari mereka yang datang di pagi hari. Lalu Yesus meminta air kepadanya. Wanita itu terkejut, bagaimana mungkin seorang Yahudi dari Yerusalem meminta air minum darinya. Apakah Dia memiliki air yang lebih baik? Lalu Yesus mulai menceritakan tentang air hidup, urapan dengan Roh Kudus Allah, yang akan mengalir dalam dirinya seperti sungai, sehingga dia tidak akan haus lagi. Si wanita meminta Yesus untuk memberikan air itu, sehingga dia tidak harus datang ke sini dengan baik lagi. Dia bertanya Yesus tentang cara yang tepat untuk berdoa: di Yerusalem atau di Silo? Ketika ia mulai beranjak pulang, Yesus mengatakan sesuatu tentang hubungannya dengan suaminya yang ke-7. Wanita itu mengakui Yesus sebagai Mesias, nabi. Ia berjalan kembali ke kota, dan menyatakan dengan keras bahwa dia bertemu Mesias, dan semua dengan senang mengundang Yesus ke kota mereka (Yoh 4:14).
