Explanation : Salome, the daughter of Herodias and Herod Philip, belly-danced for Herod Antipas during his birthday party, her father’s half-brother and pleased him so much. Herod Antipas promised to grant her any request, she made. As requested by her mother, who awaited for the moment to take revenge and kill John the Baptist, asked for the head of John. King Herod Antipas could not resist, although he respected John very much (Mat 14:1-12).

Penjelasan : Salome, anak perempuan Herodias dan Herodus Philipus, mempertunjukkan belly dance waktu pesta ulang tahun raja Herodes Antipas, adik tiri ayahnya, dan membuat ia sangat senang. Raja Herodes Antipas berjanji untuk memberikan hadiah apa saja yg diinginkannya. Sesuai dengan permintaan Ibunya –yang membenci Yohanes karena ia melarang pernikahannya dengan iparnya–, ingin membalas dendam, meminta kepala Yohanes Pembaptis. Meskipun Raja Herodes menghormati Yohanes, ia tidak dapat menolak permintaan itu (Mat 14:1-12).
